Hacking of accounts is a very severe problem now a days.

To keep accounts protected and prevent hacking, Instagram has shared some tips and introduced security features.

There are various ways like sending links, softwares, coding and more that hackers might use to hack accounts but the common mistakes made by us can make it simple for them to gain unauthorised access to our accounts. It is important to follow certain measures that can reduce the risk of accounts being hacked.

– Enable two-factor authentication: Instagram has introduced this feature which keeps the account owner aware if someone tries to login into their account. Instagram has recommended Google Authenticator as the best-suited authentication app to enable two-factor verification and keeping accounts safe.

– Instagram account users are advised keep their phone number and email address.

– Users should set a strong password using numbers, letters and special characters. Also, one should change the password regularly. Refrain from repeating passwords or using the same password for different sites.

– Users should remain cautious about scammers and phishers as they try to peek into your personal information and convince you by tricking and sending messages or links or emails.

Reportedly, Twitter will grant Elon Musk unprecedented access to its data to address his concerns over automated accounts.

The tech giant is preparing to grant the Tesla CEO access to “firehose” API, which contains every tweet as it is posted, The Post reported citing a source.

Musk committed to purchasing Twitter in April but he has grown vocal about the platform’s possible bot activity in what some experts watch as an effort to renegotiate or cancel the deal.

In a filing with the US Securities Exchange on Monday, Musk accused Twitter of breaching their agreement by not providing sufficient data on automated accounts. He also rejected the company’s offer to provide more detail on its internal studies.

Meta is facing 8 lawsuits claiming Facebook and Instagram lure young people into addiction for profit https://www.techlime.com/meta-is-facing-8-lawsuits-claiming-facebook-and-instagram-lure-young-people-into-addiction-for-profit-427/ https://www.techlime.com/meta-is-facing-8-lawsuits-claiming-facebook-and-instagram-lure-young-people-into-addiction-for-profit-427/#respond Fri, 10 Jun 2022 05:58:02 +0000 https://www.techlime.com/?p=427 The lawsuits claimed that the addiction drove users towards self-harm or has even made them develop disorders.]]>

Meta is currently facing a fresh set of lawsuits that accuse the company of deliberately making two of its platforms, Facebook and Instagram, addictive to young people in order to make profits from them.

Beasley Allen Law, the law firm that filed the eight lawsuits last week, said that the young users were driven to self-harm or developed eating disorders and sleeplessness after excessive use of Facebook and Instagram. The lawsuits were filed in Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.

“The defendants knew that their products and related services were dangerous to young and impressionable children and teens, yet they completely disregarded their own information,” said Andy Birchfield, a Beasley Allen attorney, in a statement on Wednesday.

One of the suits was filed on Monday by a Tennessee mother who said that her 15-year-old daughter’s heavy use of Meta’s products led her to suicidal ideation and self-harm.

According to court documents seen by Insider, the woman’s attorneys said her daughter received notifications from the apps all day, causing her to become addicted to the apps.

She is also suffering from an eating disorder, severe anxiety, depression, and poor sleep, per the lawsuit.

The lawsuit said that Meta failed to warn the daughter and her mother “of the dangers of addiction, sleep deprivation, and problematic use of the Meta platform(s).” It also claimed that the company “misrepresented the safety, utility, and non-addictive properties of their products.”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has once again triggered a buzz on Twitter after posting about “scam ads” on YouTube. The last time he did something like this, the world got to know about the Twitter deal. This time, the Twitter users are making their demands in advance, asking the billionaire to “buy YouTube”.

What created buzz was Mr Musk’s tweet about advertisements on the video streaming platform in which he said, “YouTube seems to be nonstop scam ads.” This was followed up with a meme on YouTube’s policy against people swearing as against when there are scam ads.

The followers were quick to react to the post.

“Please buy YouTube,” a Twitter user said in response to Mr Musk’s post. “Imagine being the richest man on earth and not paying the $11.99/month to get rid of ads,” said another.

Some users even posted interestingly funny photos from web series Panchayat, describing the characters as Musk’s team planning to buy YouTube.

The SpaceX chief in the past tweeted about “buying Coca-Cola”, which left Mr Musk’s followers trying to make assumptions about his next move.

Few days back, Mr Musk threatened to walk away from his $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter if the social media network fails to provide data on spam and fake accounts.

Twitter was in a “clear material breach” of its obligations and that Musk reserves all rights to terminate the merger agreement, as per a letter sent by him to the company and reported by news agency Reuters.

Why are JCB memes trending social networking sites in India https://www.techlime.com/why-are-jcb-memes-trending-social-networking-sites-in-india-518/ https://www.techlime.com/why-are-jcb-memes-trending-social-networking-sites-in-india-518/#respond Wed, 29 May 2019 06:49:20 +0000 https://www.techlime.com/?p=518 GIFs and hashtags of JCB excavators are trending on social media and no one seems to know why]]>

Social media users in India are now busy making memes, GIFs and hashtags of JCB excavators and no one knows exactly why.

Searching for an answer yielded no results. Some pointed to the huge number of views garnered by JCB digging videos on YouTube, others traced the origin to a video of a groom in Chhattisgarh took a JCB, instead of a horse, to reach for the wedding.

“JCB khudayi jokes are so subtle yet so funny. Apparently the jokes are about how jobless are people to watch JCB digging videos on YouTube with these videos getting millions of views ,” said one Twitter user.

But it is not only on YouTube that people love to watch the machine at work, in real world too JCB digging tends to amuse the local crowds across the country.

“Divided by Hindu-Muslim ki ladayi United by JCB ki Khudayi,” wrote another Twitter user.

On Twitter, #jcbkikhudayi remained a major trend on Tuesday, but memes related to JCB digging made way to other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram as well.

Memes made out of pictures of cricketers, politicians and actors with the caption — “Wo dekho bhai, #JCBKiKhudai chalu hai” — are going viral on the social media.

A meme shows cricketer Virat Kohli looking shocked thinking — “RCB nahi, JCB” — and poking fun at his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
